A Simple Approach for Determination of Numerical Values of Ferrite Nonlinear Susceptibilities

This article presents a straightforward approach for determination of numerical values of nonlinear susceptibilities of soft magnetic ferrites. It is shown that numerical values of susceptibilities can be calculated from the measured amplitudes of harmonics in the output voltage of ferrite core transformer. For this purpose, useful expressions for the susceptibilities are derived and as example, numerical values of the largest nonlinear susceptibilities those of the third and fifth orders are calculated. The Acoustic Wave Behavior Within the PEA Cell for Space Charge Measurement

In order to evaluate the acoustic wave behavior within the Pulsed Electro Acoustic (PEA) cell, a simulation model has been developed in this work. The model, implemented in Matlab environment, is based on the analogy between acoustic and electrical quantities. Therefore, it was possible to model the PEA cell as cascade connected lossy transmission lines. The model has been validated theoretically by making a comparison with a simulation result found in literature. Numerical values of MnZn ferrite nonlinear susceptibilities in a lossless approximation

On the basis of expressions for nonlinear magnetic susceptibilities of soft ferrites obtained earlier the analysis of phase shifts between components of flux density on different frequencies and the magnetic field strength is carried out. Only the largest nonlinear susceptibilities those of third and fifth order are considered. It is shown that in the frequency range where losses are small and can be neglected the susceptibility of third order is negative but that of fifth order is positive. Double resonance response in nonlinear magnetic vortex dynamics

We present experimental evidences for the dynamical bifurcation behavior of ac-driven magnetic vortex core gyration in a ferromagnetic disk. The dynamical bifurcation, i.e., appearance and disappearance of two stable dynamical states in the vortex gyration, occurring as the amplitude of the driving Oersted field increases to ${B}_{Oe}g{B}_{Oe}^{cr}$, manifests itself in a double resonance response in the dependence of homodyne the dc-voltage signal on the frequency $\ensuremath{\omega}$ of the applied microwave current. Electromagnetically induced switching of ferroelectric thin films

We analyze the interaction of an electromagnetic spike (one cycle) with a thin layer of ferroelectric medium with two equilibrium states. The model is the set of Maxwell equations coupled to the undamped Landau-Khalatnikov equation, where we do not assume slowly varying envelopes. From linear-scattering theory, we show that low-amplitude pulses can be completely reflected by the medium. Large-amplitude pulses can switch the ferroelectric. Using numerical simulations and analysis, we study this switching for long and short pulses, estimate the switching times, and provide useful information for experiments.

Description of intermodulation generation of nonlinear responses beyond the validity of the power series expansion

Weakly nonlinear responses are commonly described by a power series expansion. However, intermodulation distortion products that cannot be described by a power series have been observed in a variety of physical systems. As the power series description is only applicable within its radius of convergence, we choose an alternative approach based on Fourier coefficients to describe intermodulation levels beyond the convergence of the power series. Enhancement of the Spin Pumping Effect by Magnon Confluence Process in YIG/Pt Bilayers

The experimental investigation of the spin pumping process by dipolar‐exchange magnons parametrically excited in in‐plane magnetized yttrium iron garnet/platinum bilayers is presented. The electric voltage generated in the platinum layer via the inverse spin Hall effect (ISHE) results from contributions of two opposite spin currents formed by the longitudinal spin Seebeck effect and by the spin pumping from parametric magnons. In the field‐dependent measurements of the spin pumping‐induced component of the ISHE‐voltage, a clearly visible sharp peak is detected at high pumping powers. Two prospective Li-based half-Heusler alloys for spintronic applications based on structural stability and spin–orbit effect

To search for half-metallic materials for spintronic applications, instead of using an expensive trial-and-error experimental scheme, it is more efficient to use first-principles calculations to design materials first, and then grow them. In particular, using a priori information of the structural stability and the effect of the spin–orbit interaction (SOI) enables experimentalists to focus on favorable properties that make growing half-metals easier. Diagrammatic Expansion for Positive Spectral Functions in the Steady-State Limit

Recently, a method was presented for constructing self-energies within many-body perturbation theory that are guaranteed to produce a positive spectral function for equilibrium systems, by representing the self-energy as a product of half-diagrams on the forward and backward branches of the Keldysh contour. We derive an alternative half-diagram representation that is based on products of retarded diagrams. Our approach extends the method to systems out of equilibrium. When a steady-state limit exists, we show that our approach yields a positive definite spectral function in the frequency domain.
